PEORIA, Ill. – A former assistant manager at Peoria Hiway CU pleaded guilty Friday to stealing more than $525,000 from the credit union.

Thirty-year-old Adelle Herron said she stole the funds between 2004 and 2006 by creating fictitious accounts and false teller entries of unauthorized and fraudulent loans, deposits, check disbursements and transfers, in order to divert funds from member accounts.
She also confessed to destroying records to conceal the scheme.
Herron is scheduled to be sentenced on May 2.
