The VOCUP Award is given to recognize a living person based on the recipient's involvement in credit union, chapter and league activities to further the credit union movement in Arizona and the U.S. Plank plans to retire at the end of July.
For more than forty years, Plank has been involved in the movement beginning in 1966 when he became an organizer of credit unions for the Iowa league. He has also served as president of the South Dakota league, SVP at the Iowa league and president of the Minnesota league prior to moving to Arizona.
Plank has also served as chairman of the Association of Credit Union League Executives, US Central and the Credit Union Legislative Action Committee. He has served on the board of the World Council of Credit Unions, the Worldwide Foundation for Credit Unions, the World Council's Services Group and became Chairman of WOCCU.
