SAN DIEGO – A finely attired man suspected of committing 10 San Diego-area robberies – including four at credit unions – was arrested on Wednesday.
Police believe the suspect, identified as Anthony Burgess, is responsible for a 16-month spree of heists committed by a thief nicknamed the “Well-Dressed Bandit”' by investigators due to his tendency to wear a dark suit, leather jacket or scarf during his crimes.
Among the holdups were Aug. 2 and April 6 robberies at Mission FCU branches, and Feb. 11 and June 17 holdups at Point Loma branches.
