QUINCY, Mass. – Early visitors to the Adams National Historical Park were greeted last Thursday by a President John Quincy Adams, or a historical re-enactor helping to introduce the new $1 Presidential coin-courtesy of Quincy CU.

The credit union, which sponsored the presidential look-alike, gave 300 coins to the first 300 visitors and exchanged more than 3,000 of the new coins for paper currency in the first few hours.
The coin exchange was part of an effort to promote the new presidential coin, in honor of our sixth President. John Quincy Adams served one term as President, from 1825 to 1829. The U.S. Mint has coined 105 million of the new $1 pieces and plans to produce another 86 million.
