Randolph-Brooks FCU Pilots EasCorp’s Mobile Banking For iPad

LIVE OAK, Texas – Randolph-Brooks FCU launched a mobile banking application yesterday designed specifically for Apple's popular iPad tablet computer, the first credit union to implement the program by Vertifi Software LLC.

The app is special for its first-of-kind use of the camera in the newly-released iPad 2 for enabling mobile remote check deposits. The application makes use of the device's built-in camera to acquire check images, and image pre-processing and validation takes place on-device for enhanced performance. Checks are processed electronically end-to-end through Vertifi, and deposits are posted to members' accounts in real time with immediate access to check images.

Features include access to account balances and transaction history, transfers and loan payment capabilities, access to archived check images, a secure messaging system, branch/ATM locator, access to loan and deposit rates, advanced promotional capabilities to deliver targeted messaging to members, and an optimized layout to take full advantage of the iPad's 9.7" display.

With this deployment, the $2 billion San Antonio credit union now has downloadable apps that support the iPhone, iPod touch, iPad, and Android devices.

"We are in a very competitive market, and it is important that we stay ahead of the curve," said Mary O'Rourke, vice president of electronic services at Randolph-Brooks.

Vertifi is a wholly owned CUSO of EasCorp FCU in Burlington, Mass.
