Red Canoe CU Celebrates Branch Opening With $3,000 Schools Gift

LONGVIEW, Wash. – Red Canoe CU donated $3,000 to Castle Rock Schools as part of a grand opening of its new branch last week.

The credit union pledged to donate $5 for every person who stopped by and signed a “We Support Schools” banner. The idea was to spread the word of the new branch and help out local schools, according to Red Canoe officials. This is the first time the credit union has used a school fundraiser as part of its grand opening.

Red Canoe officials donated $3,000 to the school district Tuesday night. The $3,000 donation will go toward an outdoor classroom project at the community gardens next to the high school.
