Whether stuffing backpacks with school supplies and delivering them to children in need or visiting an ailing member in the hospital during a lunch break, Reliant Federal Credit Union employees are encouraged to practice Random Acts of Kindness (RAK).

"These types of events touch not only the hearts of our members but of our employees as well," said Reliant Federal CU Human Resources Specialist Susan Minotti.

The credit union's senior management gives back to employees in numerous ways, but a leading cause is continuing education. All branches close for one day per year so that all 42 employees can come together for an all-staff training day.

"We typically focus on a topic that will help better all of our employees," said Minotti, adding that each year several employees are also selected to attend conferences and courses at locations nationwide.

"Another way we support our employees is by giving them the opportunity to research and train other employees on products and services that we offer," said Minotti. "This gives the employee the opportunity to become an expert as well as helps them to develop their presentation skills."

Along with the annual training day, once a year all branches close so that employees can participate in a "Day of Caring." Over the years, employees have donated time and resources to Keep Casper Beautiful, Special Olympics, Habitat for Humanity and Food for Thought, among others. And while activities can be physically demanding, Minotti said the reward of helping others in the CU's community is "indescribable."

Founded 1936, Reliant Federal Credit Union supports four branches and more than 11,000 members.
