Congressman Artur Davis, one of Alabama's newly elected members of Congress representing the state's 7th Congressional District, was the guest speaker for the CU-Vote Luncheon at the Alabama league's annual meeting.
More than 175 credit union staff and were on hand to hear Davis' comments, which addressed the need for economic and community development in the Black Belt region, which includes 12 economically depressed counties in Alabama.
CU-VOTE is a credit union consumer advocacy council that is dedicated to providing ongoing support of the credit union movement and its members through public awareness and political education efforts.
