IOWA CITY, Iowa – A man arrested last week in connection with an armed robbery at Rent-A-Center also admitted to holding up 10 area credit unions and banks.
Police found evidence connecting Jay Michael Harkless to the credit union and banks heists after searching his apartment following his arrest.
Among the robberies Harkless is believed responsible for are two at Veridian CU branches and one at Iowa Community CU.
Harkless is believed to have acted alone.
