Mellville Buckner, 26, handed the member service rep a note that said he had a gun and "wasn’t afraid to use it," and demanded $65,000 in cash. The woman took the note to a teller, who emptied her drawer into a bag. The $10,195 in cash included "bait" money the police could trace.

Buckner is scheduled to be sentenced March 12.

Buckner’s accomplice and getaway driver, 19-year-old Shanelle Lewis, had already pleaded guilty to being an accessory to robbery and will be sentenced Feb. 12.
