Robber Makes His Getaway In 22-Foot Motorhome

RANCHO BERNARDO, Calif. – A man who robbed a Navy FCU branch yesterday used an old, 22-foot motorhome as an unlikely getaway car.

As the robber backed up in the parking lot to drive away, the credit union manager wrenched off the back license plate, according to police. Detectives were using the license plate number to trace the RV’s registered owner.

The robber walked up to the teller around 10:50 a.m. and demanded cash. He walked out the back and then climbed into a tan motor home believed to be 30 to 40 years old, according to police, who said he was slowed as he tried to maneuver the vehicle out of the crowded parking lot.
