SAN ANTONIO, Texas – San Antonio FCU announced a $100,000 gift for scholarships to students attending the Alamo Colleges in the name of its retiring CEO, Jeffrey Farver.
Farver was brought in by NCUA as conservator for the troubled $500 million credit union in 1990 and ended up staying 21 years, rebuilding the credit union’s health and creating a $3 billion credit union powerhouse.
During his tenure he supported local education through the SACU Bridge for U Scholarship, the CU Student Choice private student loan and the ExCEL Award, a community partnership honoring excellence in public school education. Early in his career, Farver also worked as a community college instructor.
