SAN DIEGO San Diego County Credit Union said it had to proactively route calls to its alternate facility due to a phone line connectivity issue Thursday.
“All SDCCU systems are up and running,” said Teresa Halleck, the $6.2-billion credit union’s president and CEO. “While SDCCU recently experienced phone connectivity issues to our main line, members continued to access their accounts and conduct transactions through sdccu.com, our 31 branches, 30,000 surcharge-free ATMs, SDCCU Mobile Deposit and mobile banking, as well as our secure online live chat.”
All calls to the main number were routed to SDCCU’s secure alternate facility and employees have been taking calls from that location. “Having an alternate location is a normal part of doing business today,” stated Halleck. “SDCCU is well prepared for business continuity impacts, with alternate plans in place to ensure member service levels are proactively managed.”
SDCCU said some callers may experience a busy signal due to high call volumes to the main “877” number. The credit union apologized for any inconvenience and said it has placed additional contact numbers on its website referencing alternative phone numbers. In addition, the CU extended call center hours to provide phone service to those who had difficulty getting through earlier in the day.
