Myers graduated from Cornell University in 1973 and later went on to become a founder of and CEO of Alternatives FCU. During his career Myers helped co-found the Community Foundation of Tompkins County and became a fellow at the Aspen Institute. The new scholarship is part of a CTA campaign to inspire young social entrepreneurs who want to start organizations that will drive positive social change, according to its backers.

The CTA is seeking to raise $5,000 for the Social Entrepreneurship Scholarship.
