ITHACA, N.Y. The Center for Transformative Action, an independent, nonprofit organization affiliated with Cornell University, is honoring Bill Myers, a former CU CEO who now heads up NCUA’s Office of Small Credit Union Initiatives, for his life’s work as a social entrepreneur by establishing a Social Entrepreneurship Scholarship in his name.
Myers graduated from Cornell University in 1973 and later went on to become a founder of and CEO of Alternatives FCU. During his career Myers helped co-found the Community Foundation of Tompkins County and became a fellow at the Aspen Institute. The new scholarship is part of a CTA campaign to inspire young social entrepreneurs who want to start organizations that will drive positive social change, according to its backers.
The CTA is seeking to raise $5,000 for the Social Entrepreneurship Scholarship.
