District 7 launched the Technology in the 21st Century Classroom Initiative last year with a goal of raising $1 million through external fundraising efforts in order to install a PolyVision interactive whiteboard in every classroom within the district.

Over the summer months, the last of the 370 PolyVision boards were officially installed, but fundraising efforts for the district’s Technology in the 21st Century Initiative are ongoing. PolyVision Boards are interactive white boards that use touch screen technology to increase the effectiveness of teachers’ in-class instruction. Officials said the boards allow teachers to display interactive software programs on the board, and allow students to interact via the whiteboard's touch screen.
