PORTSMOUTH, N.H. – Service CU this morning announced the introduction of Fiserv’s Popmoney, a free person-to-person payment service.
Popmoney allows members to send money to others by using an email address, mobile number or account number and is now available as part of the credit union's online funds transfer service. Funds can be transferred easily between accounts either at Service CU or another financial institution.
“Popmoney provides state-of-the-art online functionality to move money from a Service Credit Union account to accounts here or at other financial institutions,” said Gordon Simmons, president of the $2 billion credit union.
This service eliminates the hassle of writing a check, having cash on hand, or going to an ATM. Once funds are confirmed, the recipient is notified that money is waiting for them with instructions on how to redeem the funds.
