Service CU Removes 'Interim' From CEO's Title

Service Credit Union in Portsmouth, N.H. announced that David Van Rossum has been formally named its president and CEO, removing the "interim" tag that was applied in February.

Van Rossum formerly served as chief administration officer at the $2.9 billion-asset credit union. He was also president and CEO of four related Credit Union Service Organizations (CUSOs). However, his involvement with Service CU began prior to taking these roles – indeed, he sat on the credit union's board of directors for 24 years as a member and past chairman.

"As a demonstrated strategic executive leader, we have seen firsthand how capable and qualified David Van Rossum is to take on the pivotal role of president/CEO," David Hanchett, chairperson of the board of directors, said in a statement. "The future of the credit union and the needs of our members are in good hands with David as our CEO."

Van Rossum has a B.S. in Business Administration from the University of New Hampshire and obtained his MBA from Southern New Hampshire University.
