NORWALK, Conn.-Credit union members are showing some early preferences in their gift-giving this holiday season. Shoppers Advantage, a membership-based, shop-at-home service that is a unit of Affinion Group, which provides numerous loyalty programs to credit unions, has released a list of the top 10 most popular items being purchased by shoppers so far this year.
The list, which is part of what it calls "Elf Alert," a weekly listing of the most popular gifts, shows the following to be the most frequently purchased gifts headed under the tree this year: Canon Digital Elph 8 mega pixel camera; Nintendo Wii Fitness w/balance board; Apple iPod Touch, 16 GB; Apple iPod Nano, 8 GB; Garmin Nuvi 255 GPS receiver; Motorola H375 Bluetooth headset; Apple iPod Touch, 8 GB; Tomtom One automotive GPS unit with 3.5-inch LC; Panasonic KXTG cordless phone with three handsets, and Apple iPod Classic, 120 GB. The Shoppers Advantage service provides discounts of 10% to 50% on consumer goods.
