HOUSTON – Smart Financial CU launched a new mobile banking platform that allows members secure, easy access to account information from a variety of mobile devices and smart phones.
While the service is free for members, mobile banking is available only to members who enroll or have previously enrolled in Virtual Branch Online Banking, Smart Financial’s home banking service.
Since rolling out the new service at the beginning of May, Smart Financial has seen more than 3,100 members sign up to use mobile banking in the first month. Approximately 44% of those have been categorized as ‘Power Users’ – using the service more than 10 times per month.
The $465 million credit union has made free “My Smart CU” applications available for download at the Apple App Store for iPhone/iPod devices and the Android Market for Android devices. In addition, Smart Financial is offering a free BlackBerry shortcut exclusively for BlackBerry-operated devices.
