BURBANK, Calif.-Logix Federal Credit Union, known until recently as Lockheed Federal Credit Union, staged a Facebook contest that is open to the public and invites people to help name the credit union's new robot mascot.
The contestant with the winning name will receive the grand prize of $2,500, with four runners-up receiving $100 each.
"With our new name, we introduced an iconic robot character that reflects the credit union's innovation and forward-thinking technology, but in a way that captures our organization's fun personality," said Andrea Carpenter, senior vice president of marketing and strategy for the $3-billion credit union. "Now, we would like the community to participate in naming the little guy, and to have an opportunity to win some great prizes."
Rather than paying an agency, the credit union said it wants to engage its membership and the general public in certain marketing decisions.
