NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. South Carolina FCU, formerly a Charleston Naval Shipyard employees’ credit union, unveiled a program providing a broad range of special pricing and discounts to its military members.
The Military-Friendly Program will provide a 0.50% discount on car loan rates; free checking, foreign ATM use, cashier’s checks, instant issue debit card, debit card replacement, eStatements and Bill Pay; tiered dividends earned, starting at $2,500; and discounts on safe deposit boxes.
Participants also will get premium phone service when they enter their account number when they call.
All active-duty military members of the credit union are eligible for the program.
The $1.3-billion credit union expanded its field of membership in 2003 and now serves all of Charleston, Dorchester, Berkeley, Calhoun, Georgetown, Orangeburg counties, plus most of Lexington and Richland counties.
