ST. LOUIS – St. Louis Community CU has won $1 million in affordable housing grants from the Federal Home Loan Bank of Des Moines to help eligible, first-time home buyers and to repair homes.
The grants include $500,000 to provide first-time home buyers with down payment and closing cost assistance, in addition to home ownership education for St. Louis city and St. Louis county residents.
The remaining $500,000 will be used to perform necessary home repair services on qualifying homes in the 26th Ward. Up to $10,000 is available for each home repair project.
