PAUL, Minn. - (01/26/05) -- The Minnesota CU Network, whichbrought you legislative playing cards and sauerkraut for politicalfundraising, introduced a different lobbying promotion this week.Representatives of the state league hand-delivered to all 201members of the state legislature and Gov. Tim Pawlenty apersonalized coffee mug with their photo, name, party affiliation,district number and home city affixed to it. The mugs contained aletter from the credit union league, a packet of cocoa and a12-page booklet about credit unions and the credit uniondifference. Last year the league presented lawmakers withpersonalized playing cards and held an Oktoberfest beer blast toraise political funds that featured German food and a sing-alongwith 'George the German.'
