MADISON, Wis. Summit CU will pick up two branches with the merger of Greater Milwaukee CU, a $14-million, West Allis-based credit union.
Greater Milwaukee CU was chartered in 1923 as Milwaukee Federal Employees CU and now serves Milwaukee, Waukesha, Ozaukee or Washington counties. It operates a branch at its main West Allis offices and in the Milwaukee post office.
The credit union lost $23,000 in the first six months of the year and reported losses for each of the previous four years.
Summit CU, the former CUNA CU, has $1.9 billion in assets.
