WESTBROOK, Maine-Maine's credit unions have launched an awareness campaign to inform credit union members of its CU24 SurF (surcharge-free) Alliance.
The campaign, themed "When SurF's up, fees are down at Maine's credit unions," debuts at the same time research has found that Maine consumers can save up to $300 a year on ATM fees by joining a credit union.
The Alliance, which started in 1999, now includes 56 participating credit unions and more than 120 ATM locations across the state. Members can also now make surcharge-free deposits at a number of CU24 SurF ATM locations in Maine. In the past year, the number of SurF locations has increased 22%.
