Suspect Identified In Augusta Metro Federal CU Robbery

AUGUSTA, Ga. – Police are looking for a man who held up a local credit union at gunpoint Friday, leaving the building with an undisclosed amount of cash.

The suspect Brendan Allen Gray Jr., 24, is wanted for armed robbery and possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime in connection with the incident.

At about 4:04 p.m., Richmond County sheriff’s deputies were dispatched to Augusta Metro Federal Credit Union, where Gray had entered the building brandishing a handgun and demanding cash, according to a statement from the Richmond County Sheriff’s office.

The authorities said that Gray currently is on bond for a previous armed robbery at a GNC Nutrition store.
