SAN FRANCISCO — Tinker FCU, State ECU, Nassau Financial FCU and Envision CU were honored as winners of the 2009 CUNA Technology Council Best Practices Awards at the Council's 14th Annual Summit.
The CUNA Technology Council award recognizes outstanding approaches to technology challenges with potential for universal application across the credit union movement in four major categories.
- Tinker FCU in Tinker AFB, Okla., won the infrastructure category for its virtualization & storage area networking of their core processing system.
- In the information security/privacy category, the award went to State ECU in Raleigh, N.C., for its member photo ID progm.
- In the sales management/ marketing automation category, Westbury, N.Y.-based Nassau Financial FCU's in-house MCIF & core processing solution to determine household identity/member segmentation won the sales management/marketing automation category.
- Envision CU, Tallahassee, Fla., won in the miscellaneous category for utilizing various technologies which resulted in increased efficiencies.
In other news out of the conference, the council also announced its executive committee: Rudy Pereira of Alliant CU, Chicago, chair; Jackie Buchanan of Genisys CU, Pontiac, Mich., vice chair; Belinda Caillouet of Spokane Teachers CU, Spokane, Wash.; Jennifer Weiss of Sandia Area Laboratory FCU, Albuquerque, N.M.; Jeff Johnson of Baxter CU, Vernon Hills, Ill.; Heather Moshier of San Diego County CU; John Morawski of the Massachusetts Credit Union League; Robert Reh of Nassau Financial FCU in Garden City, N.Y.; and Brian Warfel, of Power Financial CU in Pembroke Pines, Fla.
