One Month, 1,700 Users
SAN DIEGO-In the first month after launching a mobile app for Android and iPhone devices, Cabrillo Credit Union reported it surpassed 1,700 users. The apps were developed in conjunction with mShift.

Two CUs In Facebook Promo
VACAVILLE, Calif.-Travis CU has launched a Facebook contest that encourages people to visit and like its Facebook page for a chance to win weekly prizes, as well as a chance to win a $10,000 cash prize. The credit union said its "10 Grand for 1 Fan Giveaway" is part of its ongoing social media outreach effort. TCU will pick one Facebook fan to win $10,000 if its Facebook page reaches 50,000 fans (or likes) before March 31.
Meanwhile, in Downey, Calif., $793-million Financial Partners CU has launched its social media presence on Facebook (facebook.com/FPCUca and Twitter (twitter.com/FP_CU). FPCU said it is looking to add its presence on Slideshare and YouTube in 2014.
Number of CUs Add Tools
SOUTH BEND, Ind.-Teachers CU has added to its website a new feature that offer financial literacy tools for those interested in receiving expert advice on a broad range of topics. In Dubuque, Iowa, DuTrac Community CU has updated its website, creating what it calls a more user-friendly site with easy access to frequently used tools and information. DuTrac said the site has seen a 21% increase in traffic since 2009.
