VIENNA, Va.-Navy Federal Credit Union has been named one of the nation's top 500 most innovative users of business technology, according to the InformationWeek 500 annual assessment. The behemoth credit union was ranked 169th overall and 18th in the banking financial services category. Navy Federal was one of only two CUs recognized in the entire assessment.

Meriwest Unveils 'Next Generation' Online Banking
SAN JOSE, Calif.-Meriwest Credit Union has announced that it has implemented the next generation of its online banking service by allowing members to open any tye of savings account the credit union offers and fund the account without stepping foot in a branch or speaking to a call center representative. The 47-year-old credit union said that the new service is a "simple and convenient way for members to manage their accounts."
"It is part of our effort to develop an online environment where our members can access and manage their accounts from any convenient location of their choice as easily as they might in one of our financial centers," added a Meriwest vp.
