CUISPA Calls For Entries
AUSTIN, Texas-The Credit Union Information Security Professionals Association (CUISPA) has introduced a program to deliver quarterly information security threat updates to credit union IT personnel.
"The CUISPA State-of-the-Threat updates will provide timely information on the latest cyberthreats credit unions are facing; where attackers are going, emerging attack vectors, major developments, and what security issues are likely to arise in the coming quarter," the organization said. "As an industry focused effort, the State-of-the-Threat updates hope to increase awareness and provide credit union IT departments with timely information to combat emerging threats.
The webcast will be held quarterly. Each webcast will be repeated twice to accommodate credit unions in different time zones. Each program will last an hour and a half and facilitate Q & A sessions to promote peer-to-peer communication."
The updates are free and open to any credit union. The first State-of-the-Threat address is scheduled for Wednesday, June 6 at 8:30am and 3pm.

NCR Launches Check Svc
DAYTON, Ohio-NCR Corporation announced its newest image-based technology offering, Back-Office Conversion (BOC). This form of check conversion now permitted by the National Automated Clearing House Association (NACHA), allows retailers and billers that accept checks at attended bill payment locations to convert those documents to electronic automated clearing house (ACH) debits in the back office.

Two CUs Join Synergent
WESTBROOK, Maine-Synergent, a subsidiary of the Maine Credit Union League, recently welcomed Houlton, Maine-based Houlton FCU, and Rutland, Vt.-based CU of Vermont to its Electronic Check Collection service.
There are now 54 credit unions with 142 branches in 6 states that use Synergent Check Processing's for electronic check collection.
