Martin FCU Releases i-App
ORLANDO, Fla.-The $125-million Martin FCU here has released an application that allows members to view their account balances, account history, transfer funds between MFCU accounts, view and schedule upcoming bill pay, locate a branch and contact an MSR all from their iPhones, iPads and iTouches.
BestCashCow.com Debuts
NEW YORK-BestCashCow.com has debuted, saying it offers "consumers the most comprehensive source of consumer bank information and bank data on the web." The site tracks more than 7,000 banks, 7,000 credit unions, 130,000 local branches, and more than 2 million local and national savings account rates, CD rates, mortgage rates and home equity loan rates, the company said. The new site also includes location-based features that are integrated with Google Maps that show users all of the financial institutions in every ZIP code.
FFIEC Redesigns IT Handbook
WASHINGTON-The Federal Financial Institutions Examination Council has redesigned its IT Examination Handbook InfoBase, which is the primary distribution method for the IT Examination Handbook. According to the FFIEC, the new IT InfoBase has technological capabilities not previously available, including the ability to quickly update content for multiple booklets, rather than just one booklet at a time. The FFIEC regulatory agencies, which include NCUA, expect that other new features will be activated in the future. Content changes will be communicated via a press release.

SECU MD Launches Facebook Page
LINTHICUM, Md.-The $1.2-billion State Employees CU of Maryland launched a Facebook page. CEO Rod Staatz said the CU's presence on Facebook will make banking more convenient for consumers, particularly those in the 18 to 35 age range who "have strongly indicated that they prefer to interact online."
