BATTLE CREEK, Mich. - Kellogg Community FCU has named the four winners of its “Teen Financially Made Contest.” Shelby Schueman, Brittany Schultz, Marissa Morgan and Aaron Betts were selected as the winners after submitting a 250-word essay illustrating why they should be “Made” into financially savvy consumers and identifying a short-term financial goal. At the end of the savings phase KCFCU will match up to $250 in the student’s savings account for the contest and short term goal.
The four Financially Made winners participated in a three-hour financial education class led by KCFCU’s Lisa Mudge, and attended a one-on-one budget counseling session with Amanda Andrews, counselor from Greenpath Debt solutions. The contest savings phase will end May 30th.
The four winning students are required to make weekly or biweekly deposits in order to save for their short term savings goal.
At the end of the four-month savings period each student will be rewarded with a matching deposit from KCFCU of up to $250.
