CASPER, Wyo. -- A 17-year-old’s extravagant spending spree led police to question his involvement in and his eventual confession to the Aug. 28 armed robbery of River-Rail CU. Video surveillance shows a male suspect walking into the credit union wearing a dark hoodie and a white bandanna over his face. The suspect reportedly lifted up a knife and pointed it at the tellers behind the counters as he walked in. He then pulled off his backpack and placed it on the counter, maintaining his grip on the knife as the tellers placed money in the bag. After the incident Casper police received information that a teen, later identified as Dillon Martin had recently purchased a car for $10,000 in cash, as well as expensive new clothes. During an interview with police Martin made a full confession and said he spent most of the money on a 2007 Mazda and about $1,000 on clothes from Footlocker.
