TAMPA, Fla. – Two individuals, including a teller at MidFlorida FCU, were charged with stealing more than $100,000 in federal income tax returns from senior citizens and having them deposited in phony accounts at the credit union.

Jermaine Lippett on Friday was indicted by a federal grand jury on 16 counts of conspiracy, stealing from the federal government and aggravated identity theft in the case. Prosecutors charge Lippett paid Whitley Glover, a MidFlorida teller, to deposit checks made out to people whose identity had been stolen, including a dead person. Most of the victims in the case are senior citizens.
Glover was arrested in December and charged with forgery.
In an arraignment Friday Lippett pleaded innocent to the charges.
