CHARLOTTE, N.C. - A teller was in critical condition at a nearby hospital last night after she was shot during a robbery at the State Employees CU branch here last week.

Police were searching for four people who fled after the hold up, which occurred around 11:30 a.m. The getaway car was discovered a block from the branch where the robbers apparently abandoned it for another vehicle, police said.
It was unclear how the shooting occurred and whether the teller obeyed a demand note presented by the assailant, described as a black man wearing a white jacket with a hood.
