TACOMA, Wash. – A teller for KBR CU was sentenced to 33 months in prison for stealing $440,000 from the credit union serving employees of Simpson Construction.
Edgar Kelly, 37, confessed to a six-year scheme, through which he would purportedly transfer funds from the credit union’s account at Key Bank to Southwest Corporate FCU, when in fact he was depositing the money into his own accounts.
Kelly told authorities he needed the money because he broke up with his girlfriend and was supporting two households.
