Teller Stole $625,000 From CU

MACON, Ga. – A former teller at MidSouth FCU yesterday pleaded guilty to embezzling $624,608 from the credit union and using the money to gamble, take European vacations and make car payments, among other expenses.

Lisa Cox, 48, had worked for the credit union for 17 years, most recently at the Mercer University Drive branch.

A surprise audit in 2007 uncovered missing money.

To cover her tracks, Cox made false entries in vault and teller drawer records, according to prosecutors.
