Teller Stole From Member Accounts To Pay For Drug Habit

MASSENA, N.Y. – A former teller at SeaComm FCU pleaded guilty Monday to stealing $23,500 from nine members’ to pay for a prescription pill addiction.

To avoid jail, the parents of Ashley Ayotte, 26, have agreed to repay the stolen funds to the credit union.

Ayotte, who said she completed a substance abuse treatment program since she was fired last June from the credit union, pleaded guilty to third-degree grand larceny Monday in St. Lawrence County Court.
