OAK RIDGE, Tenn. — CU Insurance Services of Tennessee, LLC, opened for business just two months after the joint venture was announced.
The new insurance CUSO is the result of a partnership between Y-12 FCU and ORNL FCU. The company was formed to provide members with personal insurance solutions, including home, life, boat, fire, personal umbrella coverage and more. A variety of top-rated carriers allow members to customize their protection while finding a premium payment that fits with their budget, the two CUs said in a statement.
CUIST will be run by Jerry Tweeten, a CU vet with more than 25 years' experience in the field. Tweeten has served as insurance operations manager at Alaska FCU and at MAX CU in Montgomery, Ala., as president of MAX Services, LLC, among other positions.
