Timberland Federal Credit Union has named Joel Slagan as the new president and CEO.

Slagan, who is the current institution’s chief operations officer, has worked at the Dubois, Pa-based credit union since January 2014. It is how recently Slagan began his new role, though the National Credit Union Administration's registry lists Slagan as Timberland’s CEO.
“I am honored to be named CEO of Timberland FCU,” Slagan said in a press release. “I am even more honored to work alongside great executives that I know are just as eager to build a great staff and deliver innovative solutions for our members.”
Before joining the $68 million-asset Timberland, Slagan worked at the Pennsylvania Credit Union Association from 2006 to 2014.
The credit union's former CEO, Carrie Wood, resigned, according to a Timberland Federal Credit Union employee. The employee declined to comment on specifics on when or why Wood left.
Wood did not immediately respond to Credit Union Journal's request for comment. She spent nearly 21 years at the credit union, according to her LinkedIn profile, which said she served as president and CEO for 16 of those years.
