OKLAHOMA CITY – Tinker FCU has launched a new website at BuckTheNorm.com to tap into the Gen Y market by providing money management advice to young adults.
Tinker introduced the site publicly with a float in the "Ghouls Gone Wild" Halloween parade, which drew 34,000 people. The float featured a giant lit sign of money monsters entitled "debt" and "overspending" pulled on a flatbed trailer. Six staff members walked along with the float, which won "Beast of Show."
Live on the site now are budgeting tips, a glossary of financial terms, tips on how to get a truly free credit report, interviewing advice, resume tips, etc.
In mid-November, a second phase of the site will roll out the $1.7 billion credit union’s second annual video scholarship contest, a sampling of local artists' music, financial personality quizzes and even more useful and user-friendly financial information.
