Trainor To Step Down As Veridian CEO

WATERLOO, Iowa—Jean Trainor is stepping down as CEO of Veridian Credit Union to play a more active role in her son's life.

The credit union has not named a replacement. Trainor does not plan to set a firm retirement date until the CU names a successor.

Trainer has served as CEO and chief inclusion officer of the $2.5 billion Veridian for the last 25 years. She joined the CU 32 years ago when it was John Deere Community Credit Union.

Trainor said she plans to "recalibrate" to her new career working with her son, Nate, who was born with Joubert Syndrome, a rare genetic disorder that left him unable to speak. Nate types to communicate, and his career goal is to teach others to type. Trainor wants to play a role in working alongside Nate to make that a reality starting in 2015.

She also plans to continue her volunteer work in the community.

"I am very grateful for the opportunity to work for the credit union and very proud of our accomplishments," said Trainor. "I'm leaving the credit union in the hands of a very strong team. Veridian is strong financially and well positioned for the future."
