All of Tri-State FCU's nearly 5,500 members became members of Clearview on June 1. With the addition of Tri-State FCU's member base, Clearview reported serving more than 85,000 members and assets valued at more than $878 million as of June 30.

Clearview said it will maintain Tri-State FCU's two branches in southwestern Pennsylvania and one branch in East Liverpool, Ohio. The additions bring Clearview to a total of 20 branches. The former Tri-State FCU branches will continue to be staffed by the same employees who have served members for years.

"I am pleased to officially welcome all the Tri-State members and employees to our credit union family," Mark Brennan, Clearview FCU's president and CEO, said in a prepared statement. "This has been a solid partnership between two credit unions with similar philosophies, and we look forward to serving more members in the southwestern Pennsylvania region."

Clearview FCU made news earlier this year when it spun off more than 4,200 of its members in North Carolina to Piedmont Advantage CU.

Having converted to a community charter exclusively serving southwestern Pennsylvania a few years ago, Clearview’s Tar Heel State branch was only allowed to add family members of existing members, severely limiting the ability to sustain and grow that branch.

Membership in Clearview is open to individuals who live, work, worship, attend school or volunteer in the southwestern Pennsylvania community, which includes Allegheny, Armstrong, Beaver, Butler, Fayette, Greene, Indiana, Lawrence, Washington and Westmoreland counties.
