Troubled Colorado CU Merged Out

TRINIDAD, Colo. – NCUA and Colorado state regulators on Monday said they have approved the merger of Trinity CU, a $4-million credit union run under NCUA conservatorship since July, into Power CU, an $82-million credit union in nearby Pueblo.

As part of the merger, Power CU will maintain the lone Trinity branch in Trinidad.

Trinity lost $134,000 in 2012 and lost $40,000 for the first six months of 2012.

The merger occurred without assistance from the NCUSIF, NCUA said.

Trinity CU was chartered in 1939 and served the residents of Las Animas County, Colo.
