MARIETTA, Ga. – LGE Community CU has launched a series of what it says are unique TV commercials that feature a talented parrot who sings a “stunning tenor” from the Italian opera Rigoletto.

The new television ads follow the positioning the credit union’s ad agency, The Burmeister Group, created for the client three years ago – “A smarter way to bank.” Viewers learn how banking at the credit union is smart, the agency said.

The commercial was created from stock footage of a parrot.  The agency then hired Spin Productions to animate the bird, and Jack Music to create the soundtrack.

“Financial advertising can be so dull – it often is difficult to tell one financial commercial from another. We simply had to find a compelling, intriguing way to tell LGE’s great story,” said Julie Burmeister, president and creative director of the Atlanta ad agency. “Besides, who wouldn’t be drawn in by a parrot with a voice like Pavarotti?”

“The Burmeister Group did an amazing job with our commercial. It is without question the most original, entertaining and attention-getting banking commercial I have ever seen, and we are really grateful to the agency for making us look so good,” said Stephen Cohen, vice president, marketing and community relations for the $900-million credit union.

The TV spot is part of an integrated approach which includes broadcast, out of home, Internet and direct mail.
