United Health Services CU Members OK Merger with Horizon

SPOKANE, Wash. – The proposed merger of $102 million United Health Services Credit Union into $716 Horizon Credit Union received 89% member approval.

The merger is scheduled to be completed on Nov. 1. It will make Horizon an $800-plus million credit union with 250 employees.

In the months leading up to the vote, UHSCU members received information by mail, on the website and in UHSCU’s three branches as part of a communication campaign that was led by According to Tacoma, Wash.-based JayRay. Members also were invited to town hall meetings to ask questions and learn more about the proposed merger.

Jeff Adams, Horizon Credit Union’s president and CEO, reported he was pleased with the campaign’s success. “We pride ourselves on placing our members’ needs first, and JayRay helped us explain how the merger would continue that focus,” he said in a statement.
