University FCU has opened this striking facility here. Designed by Angenora Architects of Austin, the credit union said it was seeking to create a "navigational landmark amidst its traditional southwest Austin surroundings." The goal is to draw in members and prospective members through more than just the exterior, but by allowing its "high-tech internal workings" to be visible. The building's exterior uses tilted glass panels the architect says eliminates sunlight heat and glare from the interior. On the interior video tellers are used, as are "concentric elliptical patterns...purposely integrated into the interior design to subtly suggest the most efficient circulation flow for members."
