MADISON, Wis. – University of Wisconsin CU on Monday said it is among the first financial institutions to adopt a consumer-friendly account opening form that will allow consumers to compare checking accounts between financial institutions more easily.
The “simple” format was endorsed by the Pew Charitable Trust and is being reviewed for possible use by the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau.
“We are committed to business practices that promote the financial well-being of the community, and being open and transparent about our policies is one way to help consumers understand financial services and make better decisions,” said Paul Kundert, president of the $1.5-billion credit union.
