Utah Community CU Buys Naming Rights At Utah Valley University For $2.5 Million

PROVO, Utah – Utah Community CU announced yesterday it has struck a $2.5 million sponsorship deal with local Utah Valley University, under which it will add its name to the university’s events center.

The $725 million credit union will pay the university $250,000 a year for 10 years for the naming rights, under the deal.

The events center, formerly the McKay Events Center, is the home to UVU’s Wolverine Basketball Team and hosts a variety of concerts, expos and events. It is located next to Interstate 15 and has one of the largest LED billboards along the I-15 corridor. The prominent location along I-15 makes it a highly visible venue for a sponsoring partner while providing the university with a new private revenue source in a time when UVU is wrestling with more limited resources despite unprecedented enrollment growth – 11% over last year. That makes almost 31,000 students enrolled.
