SEATTLE--School Employees CU of Washington announced the hiring of Scott Adkins, vice president of lending at Spokane Teachers CU, as president and CEO of the $950 million credit union.

Adkins will succeed Sandra Kurack, who is retiring after heading the credit union for the past 20 years.
Adkins has 25 years of banking experience including 11 years at Spokane Teachers, a $1.8 billion-asset CU. He is a graduate of Pacific Coast Banking School and received his Certified Chief Executive designation through the Credit Union Executives Society (CUES).
He will join School Employees CU in November.
Adkins was hired after a CEO search conducted by O’Rourke & Associates.
